Prova ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Prova mobile application (the "Service").
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication — we never see your plain-text password), your chosen username, and your account type (student, personal, or teacher).
Practice profile. You may provide your instrument, skill level, practice goals, focus skills, available practice days, and daily practice duration. This is used to generate and personalise your practice plans.
Practice activity. When you practise, we record the date, duration, categories practised, points earned, streaks, and session ratings. Background audio processed by on-device tools such as the tuner is analysed on your device only and is never uploaded.
Messages and shared content. If you use chat (for example with your linked teacher, or class announcements), the messages, photos, and videos you send are stored on our servers so they can be delivered. Proof-of-practice photos and videos you choose to upload are stored so your teacher can view them.
Teacher-provided information. If you are connected to a teacher, your teacher may record lesson attendance, lesson notes, marks, assigned tasks, and — for younger students — a parent or guardian's email address for practice reports.
Usage metadata. For security and service improvement, our backend logs each AI request with metadata (user ID, timestamp, model used, token counts). We do not log the content of prompts.
Usage analytics. We collect anonymous-style usage events (for example "practice started" or "task assigned") to understand which features are used and improve the app. These events are tied to your account ID only — never your email, name, messages, or any content you create — and are never used for advertising or shared with advertisers.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing. Data is shared only with:
Your data is stored with Google Firebase in secure Google Cloud data centres, encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is restricted by security rules so you can only access your own data, and teachers can only access data for students who have linked to them with a join code. Student-to-student private messaging is disabled at the server level.
We retain your account and practice data while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting cehthoanprova@gmail.com. Deletion requests are actioned within 30 days.
Prova is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without consent. Student accounts are intended to be used with the involvement of a parent, guardian, or teacher. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact cehthoanprova@gmail.com.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
